Why i Voted no On Proposition 8

This is Gayrilla Biscuits, if you couldn't tell by there name they love youth crew hardcore, and dick. This band is gay and unashamed. I love the fact that when you are gay and punk it seems like the world is your oyster, you can do whatever to whomever and have a ball(wink*wink*). I wish this band was around when i was in highschool just so i could wear a shirt. most people thought i was gay, probably because i liked making homophobic jocks uncomfortable. Any who if you like bands like GorillaBiscuits, Youth ofToday, or even YouthofToGay you will probably like these guy. So rediscover the juvenile fun of drawing penis's on everything someone else ones.

Here

PS. Prop 8 was proposition here in California designed to make it illegal for Homosexuals to marry, based on the belief that homosexuality goes against gods will and makes republicans uncomfortable.

This comp is the one of the best introductions to under ground international hardcore. It has everything form American classics like State, TheFix, and UrbanWaste to Scandinavian and Japanese Hardcore as well. Mankind forgot nature.

You In Corruption

Alright I am Kicking myself right now for not posting this sooner. I was browsing through my Record collection when i cam upon this piece of vinyl gold and realized that i don't remember ever listening to this 7" before. So when i bought it i must have got a few other things and this baby just sat unattended til now. Let me tell you, this rules! The band is Warhead and they hail from Kyoto Japan, this 7" was released in 1991. This release is amazing to say the least, its typical Japanese hardcore but with ten times the energy. 'CryOfTruth' is unrelenting and furiously frantic. Everything is in Japanese except the titles which are written in beautiful broken English(just look at the title of this particular entry) and covered in images which would make any Discharge fan cream his/her/it's pants. So do yourself a favor and get this... Now!
HERE

PS i will have the Lp comp i have up shortly for all to enjoy.

In Battle There Is No Law

This is The First Release from BoltThrower, the less epic 'InbattleThereIsNoLaw' released in 1988. Many people just pass this record off as a stepping stone for what they would latter become saying that its sloppy and not as well thought out. I feel rather differently, i think this is their best album by far. The other releases while more technically perfect, they lack the same kind of young sloppy"raw" energy that this one has. Plus The artwork is worlds better then the stuff based from the "Warhammer Gaming Series". That's all i really have to say, Now i am off to go eat some ToFurky, Macaroni Salad, and Sweet Potatoes.

The Stench Of Animal Rites

This is a live recording of ExtremeNoiseTerror from 1989. I already know what your thinking, "This can't be good, its live grindcore/stenchcore/whatever you wanna call it" but the weird thing is, it is really well produced and has some of their best stuff. I love the album art because its just filled with tons of animal rights facts, and a big rant about how much they encourage others too live cruelty free. Now being a vegan myself i do find sympathy for what they are preaching. Then whilst watching their tour video, i noticed they were covered in head to toe in leather(Boots, Jackets, FannyPacks...etc). Mabye its old leather and they didn't want to waste it. I don't know all i can say is Up The Hypocrisy!!!
MUUUUURRRRDDDDEEERRRRR!!!!!
BLEEEEAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Ps 'Holocaust in Your Head' is an awesome album, and if you like this you will love the full length.

Dreadlocks And The Plight Of The Native Americans

This is AcidRainDance and this is their S/T 7" from 1991 released on the awesome Skuld, as you can imagine this is a crust band with heavy metal leanings. I was floored when the first time i listened to this and i had it on 33rpms i thought to myself this is fucking awesome doom!!!! then i realized i was wrong, and its just really awesome Stenchy Crust from Germany i don't know to much about this band other then what i have already told you and that they also put out an Lp which i am kicking myself for not buying when i had the chance. This abum isn't just your typical dimestore crust band they are really talented and are kinda of poppy in a weird sense, and they love the Metal. It kinda reminds me of a faster axegrinder sans the keyboard intros. So Dance! Dance Away! But I would advise to stay out of the rain(cuz that counts as a shower).

Enjoy

KillTheCops!!!

This This is SoWhat and they hailed from Tokyo-Japan. SoWhat play just what you would imagine...Japanese HardCore, in the more noizey(note the Z)distorted way. So that means plenty of feedback, indecipherable lyrics, and Disorder worship. All i really know about this is that this was originally a flexi put out in 1985 on Dirty Informal Section Records(D.I.S. #002), and that they put out one other 7" and were featured on a hand full of comps. Since i have only been putting things up from my own pearsonal collection of vinyl i must tell you this isn't taken from the original but rather a boot leg that came out sometime in the past year or so. The boot was released as a 7" and didn't feature track listings on the vinyl or any notification of side a or b, so that is why this is trackless. I just had to guess which. But ya this is an awesome release and if any one has the other 7" please let me know i would love to hear it.

Lifes The Lung And Your The Cancer

I am going to go out on a limb and say that if you claim to be "Punk-Rock" and don't have any knowledge of DISORDER, you are a cheap little poser and should stick to things you know like the casualties and various other exploitation bands that don't deserve to live. But if you are really into things that i have posted like LebendenToten or Dustnoise then you just might love this band seeing as how neither of the fore mentioned bands would exist without DISORDER. This is The Perdeition 12" released in 1983. It is simple snotty fuzzed out punk. It is beautiful, and flawless(or full of flaws...whatever). Not much else needs to be said.

Evoking Grace and Splendour

Well since my hard drive has decided to die on me and has left me in mourning over the loss of over 300GB of music, i feel that it is time to move on til i have the proper funds to afford a new hard drive. Since most of my music is lost i have decided to get off my lazy ass and do things the old fashion way, i will start uploading things from my personal vinyl collection.

I couldn't think of a better way to start this off other then with some romantic BlackMetal. This is Celestia, and this is their 2002 ep "Evoking Grace and Splendour". When i say 'Romantic' don't get me wrong, this isn't some sort of symphonic Bullshit. Celestia play straight foreword BlackMetal, well there is a little acoustic bit in the beginning of the first track. Celestia Hail from France and have a strange obsession with love and death. Most songs often deal with a deep melancholic sorrow and the loss of loved ones. So if your in the mood for mourning just click
HERE

So if you like this you can click on over to THE COSMIC HEARSE and get one of Celestia's full lengths which happens to features one of the two songs posted here.

In Hate Gods Of War Descend To Earth

I don't know to much abut this band. all i really know is that this band is from Spain, obsessed with Tolkien and they HATE-YOU! This is Nazgul, and the reissue of their 2000 release 'WhenTheWolvesReturnToTheForest' the re-issue come includes 'MyThroneInWinter' ep. Everything i could find on these guys says they are BlackMetal of the NationalSocialist varity. Lyrically they just come across as nationalists, they don't really put anybody down, but speak highly of their Fatherland. Any-who the albums are great, but i prefer 'MyThroneInWinter' it's a little more raw/Lo-Fi and doesn't have the cheesy female vocals. Overall this is nothing really mind blowing or amazing, its just NSBM with a little better production. So if you wanna feel some Spanish hate just click
Here

Perfect MastersThrieve On Disasters

This is BrianEno, he was once a part of the wonderful GlamRock band RoxyMusic. This album albeit not that much different from RoxyMusic is a gem on its own. its part Pop, part experimental, and heavily drug influenced. Its dancey up beat and somewhat off putting. This is 'HearComeTheWarmJets' from 1973. On my downtime at school i find myself laying on benches starring into space while this record forces me to wonder why 'BlankFrank' is the is the messenger of my doom and my destruction? In my opinion this album is a masterpiece, it has a strange beauty that most music is just lacking. Its infectious, groovy, poppy, and emotes a certain level of self reflection. At times the album just seems way ahead of its time, like at the end of' DeadFinksDon'tTalk' were it goes into some sort of techno break down, what the fuck is that? Awesome, that's what. While other times it seems like lost tracks from the 'RockyHorrorPictureShow' which i hope you don't take as a deterrent, cuz that soundtrack is awesome in it's own right.

Corned Beef?

I don't Know to terribly much about these guys except that the are French play kick ass 70's punk and have been featured on all sorts of rare punk comps, this is BULLDOZER and their 1977 7" entitled 'L'enclume Des Jours/CornedBeef '. First off 'L'enclume Des Jours' Fucking rules their is no if's and's or but's about it. Its up beat and catchy and it brings to mind skinheads in black and white stripped shirts dancing with baguettes and berets utop their heads. The next track 'CornedBeef ' is a lot slower and a bit more rock n' roll with an opening sample of Hitler at a NAZI rally and filled with samples of construction sites. All in all i love this band and wish someone would give me the full length with track listings because i need to know the titles... i just need to. so enjoy folks, and get your French on!.
HERE

Turk Street

This is the first release from Bay-Area band KowloonWalledCity entitled 'TurkStreet'. These guys are reminiscent of 'WordAsLaw' era Neurosis. Its crushing mid tempo sludge, with a very hardcore feel to it. These guys actually contacted me and were woundering if i would do a review of their release. In the e-mail they directed me to their website were they give you the option to download the album for free or purchase it. When i saw this i thought to myself that is totally awesome that a band would do that, and after giving the EP a good listen, i placed my order for the 10" and can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. Every track on the Ep is relentless and full of angst and power, like a run away train coming to a screeching and grinding halt. So ya, if you are waiting for some good sludgyness stained with a lil' Hardcore here is your chance to be the first on your block to own this badboy.
You can download/Purchase it from the band Here
Or Download it from me Here
Either way if you find yourself moved by these tracks you could always say Thank You by supporting the band with a purchase.
Enjoy!
PS. The are also playing a hand full of shows in the Bay Area if anyone is interested

The Eyes Of Man Look Out And Beyond

This is Electric Wizards second full length album entitled 'ComeMyFanatics'. This was my first exposure to this band i remember it as though it were yesterday, It was a brisk and foggy fall morning. I was sitting in on the side of a brick walk way at school waiting for my health and nutrion class to start. While i was waiting i put on this album from a band my friend had given me a week or two prior. So i sat there and started listening to this album while i was drinking some coffee trying to stay warm. As the second track 'WizardInBlack' started to play it seemed as though time had come to a screeching halt, like everything had slowed down to a snails pace. The song put me in a euforic daze that seemed to last forever. THIS ALBUM CHANGED MY LIFE! . Before this album i was utterly content with Sabbath and Sleep. This is actually the band and the album that made me further my quest for stonermetal. All in all i love this album and would like to share it with you. It is spacey, slow, and down-tuned to the point of no return. Enjoy

Heartwork

So I am making this post in mourning because i missed them play the other night. I don't really have any interesting anecdote's or want to spend a lot of time describing how much ass this record kicks, or about how Jeff Carcass is an amazing artist, or even about how this band was formed by two founding members of ElectroHippies. I might just be being lazy. But i digress, I heard wonderful things about how great the concert was and am glad to know they still kick ass. So here it is 'HeartWork', a lot of people don't like this album because it isn't as straight forward as their prior efforts, but i love this album because its not just typical Grindcore, i'm not even sure you could consider this Grind at all, its more or less Technical Death Metal. So enjoy.

Born With A Heart Of Steel

Once upon a time i worked at a Punk-Rock Record store near my house. I was sitting behind the counter going about my business when a young naive kid walked in and happened to notice behind the Manowar 'Kings of Metal' on the back wall for sale. The naive little shit had the audacity to tell me how much Manowar sucks and how they are a huge joke. The kid obviously had no idea he was talking to the only Manowar fan that worked in the store. So i looked him directly in the eye and sad "What the Fuck did you just say?" as the young'n sat there with a stupefied look on his face muttering something and trying to stand by his opinion, i quickly proclaimed that Manowar rules and is far better then any shitty band he was wearing on his vest(i can say this truthfully because this kid was wearing a Balzac backpatch). I countinued to verbally assault this poor kid by saying "Other bands play , Manowar kills!" basically telling him"my dad could beat up your dad" which i believe Manowar would stand by. All the kid could say in response was "uh, uh, i like IcedEarth." i quickly shot him down with a "Fuck that shit, that band fuckin sucks!"(i don't really ever recall hearing that band, but i was out for blood). It must have looked odd with this kid cowering to a crusty with a shaved head and a bright red pissed off look in his face. I feel bad for the kid, in a way.

Any who i love Manowar their brand of over the top cheesy power metal takes the cake and continues to get better with every album. It might be my guilt pleasure, but i don't feel so guilty. Their Machismo makes me weak in the knees. I will be the first to state Manowar is a lot like heavy metal show tunes, and i wouldn't have them any other way. I know for a fact that if JoeyDemiao were to see me sitting hear eating soy strawberry yogurt with granola he would call me a fag, and then ride off into the sunset with a blond stripper on the back of his "Horse of Steel". This is their 1988 album entitled 'Kings of Metal' this is the turning point for the band many claim this to either be were they sold out or were they got better i agree with the latter. Its so epic, manly and well Broadway. They have lyrics which include the prase "I ride a comet" and Way your sword stay wet, like a young girl in her prime"...Manowar don't fuck around! So if you like your metal full misogynistic closet cases this is the album for you. Besides this is the loudest band in the world according to Guinness Book of World Records, at least they used to be.

Hail And Kill!

Lets Get Free!

First off let me start by saying Asa Lama Lakam. Lets get free is the debut full length from everyones favorite militant Black activists DeadPrez. The songs are all about assassination, mind control, and the unfair balance of power within this country. Not to mention they are big fans of the vegan lifestyle. Which is why i believe they caught my attention in the first place. For the most part the songs are very well written and can be very inspiring, on the other hand songs like 'Mind Sex' just make me laugh my ass off. Well here you go, enjoy, and remember to resist the pigs.

Get Freedom Here

Criminal Damage

This is the CtiminalDamage demo, im not sure when this was made(i think around 05/06), but i do know that this rules. CriminalDamage serve up a heaping helping of full throttle Blitz worship from Portland Oregon. Its uncanny how kick ass this is. The demo is equal parts of both full length records 'No Solution' and 's/t'. I believe they have a members of Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone, and Deathreat. Most of the songs deal with ideas of oppression, self medication and the occasional song about somebody being beat up in the streets. All the songs are catchy and you will certainly find them stuck in your head with you singing along out loud. So this is for fans of Blitz, Skrewdriver, 4-Skins, NoHopeForTheKids, GorillaAngreb, etc...
Personal favorites include Anethesia, and LastChance.
Enjoy

The Punishing Darkness,

For all those who liked the Weakling post i made a couple weeks ago this is for you, this is a live recording of the band doing what they do best playing bleak and depressive BlackMetal. Their are no vocals, but it still rules anyways! I believe this is their 1998 live rehearsal demo, but i'm not sure. This was given to me buy the very kind Aesop of CosmicHearse after reading my post, Thanks Aesop.
Bask in sorrow

And Justice for y'all!

This is WeedEater's fists album entitled 'And Justice for Y'all' from 2001. This band reminds me of like a southern inspired version of MotorHead on tons of heroin. I love this album, and this band. They just seem to epitomize Stoner in so many ways. I love that they are all about marijuana while at the same time not way over the top about it. Members of this band used to be in the infamous Buzzov*en, and at times it really shows on this album. In addition the bass player and main vocalist Dixie Collins also played in Bongzilla. So ya, enjoy.

We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago

Here is some more Hawkwind. This has to be one of my favorites, it is such a toss up between this and 'Dorami Fosol Latido' i love them both, but i think at this current moment in time im loving this record a lil' more. It seems to me a lot more "spacey" then 'Dorami'. Anyways this is Hawkwind's 2nd which was released in 1971 entitled 'InSearchOfSpace' and let me tell you i think they found it. This is album has it all its spacey, droney and drug fueled. This is a bad album for me to listen to whilst driving, i find my self zoning out and next thing i know i have been siting a the green light for its entirety voiding out all the horns believing it is a part of the music. I love how all the music seems to gradually get louder and then fade away, then just when you think the song is over they bring it back around again. well any-who, i love this record and maybe you will to, some sit back and wait for the mother ship to make its second round.

Here

All Pigs Must Die!

Ever hear of DeathInJune? Well you have now, and this is their 2001 album 'All Pigs Must Die'. DIJ are one of those bands that are shrouded in mystery. From their obsessive fascination with all things Nazi/militaristic and occult to their logos and their lyrical content. Many accuse Them of being Nazi's themselves but i find that hard to believe. Douglas Pearce is openly and was formerly in the band Crisis which was feverishly anti-fascist and played such renowned festivals like RockAgainstRacism. I am not going to lie they do have a strong fascination with the right wing and sure do love them runic symbols. In addition the love paganism and are strong advocates of the old european gods, this probably is in part of their fasination with the SS, or vice-versa. Sadly no white people can wear or display runic symbols or claim paganism without being accused of being white power, simply because Neo-nazi's(and real Nazi's) started using them. I have read stories of DIJ preforming live in monkey suits dressed like SS soldiers now that sounds like mockery to me. Also i have read other accounts of them playing shows in Israel, and what kind of Neo-Nazi is going to play to a predominantly Jewish crowd, let alone support Israel in the first place. Any-who despite their possible political leanings they play a mean acoustic guitar. They are possibly the leaders in the Neo-Folk/Apocalyptic-Folk scene. So its bleak, depressing, foreshadows death in a very pretty and eerie way. This album just happens to be some-what of a tribute to every-ones favorite counterculture figure, CharlesManson. Well enjoy, i know i do. For fans of Current93.

I Am Not An Effigy!

Well, i thought i would post something that might throw a few of through a loop. This is Ministry, prior to them being a metal/industrial band they were a very dance Synth Pop band. And Al Jourgenson loved using a British accent. Well this album rules and is very gay. It makes me want to put on make-up and dance around the house. The album is called 'With Sympathy' and came out in1983. Later Al would claim to be ashamed of this release by saying he was pressured by the record company to make it "SythPop", but i must say if you feel you are to "manly" for this record, your probably a closet case. So ya if you happen to find your self bobbing your head on occasion to SoftCell, PetShopBoys, or Erasure then you might like this record. So enjoy, and if your significant other happens to walk in on you taking a bubble bath with scented candles and this playing in the background try your hardest not to act awkward and start franticly explaining how "I'm not gay i swear, you gotta believe me". Just own up to the fact that sometimes you like to feel pretty and sensitive. Oh and if this is to "Gay" for you still you might like the 2nd album 'Twitch' better its a lot more "Industrial". So rat your hair, put on your tight black pants, a loud of make-up and relive your goth days.

Slow Dirty And Painful

This is the Grief/13 Split which came out in 1993. This record is crushing, bleak, and awe-inspireing. Most of you should already be familiar with Grief so they don't really need much explaining, but if they do click here. So on to 13, they rule. They were a mostly female Doom/Sludge band from the NewYork area(i believe). I don't know to much about 13 but i do know that they did splits with EYEHATEGOD. Also the guitar player went on to such note worthy acts as Sourvein and now can be heard in ElectricWizard along with her husband JusOborn. Hope you enjoy

So for all the folks wishing i would post more Sabbath laden Doom here you go. This is Bongzilla's 2002 release entitled 'Gateway' its exactly what you have come to expect from these masters of Marijuana. Old fashioned stoner metal in the vein of ElectricWizard but with hash almost BlackMetal vocals. In addition you get awesome album art featuring Satan at the gates of hell enthroned in his unholy majesty with bong in hand(cheesy i know, but you gotta love it). So ya, its nothing mind blowing, but it sure kicks a lot of ass. If you like EYEHATEGOD but think the fast parts "Harsh You Buzz" then i think this is the band for you. So just sit back on your couch with plenty of snacks of your choice by your side and contemplate the deep meaning behind such songs as 'Stone A Pig' and 'Keefmaster' or just stare at stuff.

"Ever Seen The Back of a Twenty Dollar Bill? Ever Seen The Back of a Twenty Dollar Bill, on Weed?"

See it Here, Dude

Ps. Sorry to all my faithful readers, but my schedule has been turned upside down and i have not been able to post as much i used to. Ya see i just got a job, and started school again so i will try and post on the weekends and maybe on Tuesdays/Thursdays. If you want to be up to date on everything i post the best way to do that is to subscribe or just keep doing what your doing and check whenever you have time. Any-who Sorry, but i will try to make a few posts when i do get around to doing so.

For All The Lonely Ones

Photobucket

This is TheWipers 3rd album 'Over The Edge' and it was released in 1983. 'OverTheEdge' is a piece of American punk rock gold. TheWipers hailed from Portland Oregon. TheWipers rule, as i am sure many folks will attest to that. Their music conveys feelings of the downtrodden, desperate, and alienated. Every time i listen to this record i always find myself reflecting on my life and what has brought me to my current situation. I feel that this record speaks for itself, so enjoy.

Waiting For Tonight!

Tonight i am going to the 'MaifestDestinyFest' to see Witchcraft and Witch, i am so excited that i am going to give you guys a sample of what they sound like, Witch are a band from the Vermont area and play heavy distorted rock in the vein of early Pentegram, LedZepplin, and BlackSabbath. I would have to say that they sound a lil' closer to Zepplin then anything else, but evil and ominous. Did i mention that it has a member of DEEPWOUND!!!!! the same member who went on to DinosaurJR, J Mascis is his name. Witch has a total of 2 albums out, two 7" and a DVD. if you want to buy any of it go to TeePeeRecords. Mabye i will posty some DeepWound later.
Here is Witch

By now you should have all heard about Witchcraft, the band that wishes so badly that they lived in the 70's, with their JethroTull/Pentegram Doominess. they have come out so far with 2 album a split 10"w/TheSword, and two 7"s(?). This band has been touring the hell out of The USA and word on the street is that they do so for the Kombucha because they can't get it in their country for whatever reason. Any-who if you have yet to purchase anything from these fine gents you can do so here

Coping With Death

Photobucket

This is MyDyingBride's 'As The Flower Withers' from 1992 on Peacevile records. MyDyingBride is the self destructive form of anger during the coping process that forces us to lash out at ourselves in time of crises when we have no other release. It is dark poetic art in the vein of Asunder, ParadiseLost, and Anathema. The music is typically guttural vocals overlapping melodic guitar and the occasional violin and keyboard section. These guys remind me of a much prettier and more put together Axegrinder. So all in all this is like a mix of DeathMetal and Doom, or FuneralDoom, or whatever you wanna call it. While MyDyingBride is known for being pretty and slow this album certainly has some faster or at least mid-tempo songs. It seems as though this would be perfect to listen to on a rain day, after shoe gazing for a while. Stand out tracks include 'The Bitterness and the Bereavement', Sear Me' , and 'Well i hope you like it.

Epic Pain And Sorrow

Photobucket

This is Weakling, they hailed from SanFrancisco, and play Epic BlackMetal. This release has been commented as being a "Masterpiece" and i would have to agree. This album was entitled 'DeadAsDreams' and came out in 2000, just after they had called it quits. 'DeadAsDreams' is both fast and slow with lots of atmospheric cavernous sound. The songs are long and drawn out, in a good way. Weakling project feelings of emptiness, anger, and deep seeded desperate depression(hooray for alliteration). Five tracks in all this release comes in at a whopping seventy-six minutes. In addition weakling also has members of Asunder, TheFuckingChamps, Saros, and TheHusbands. This is for fans of Bethlehem, Asunder, and depression. For some reason i see this band more with DoomMetal then i do with BlackMetal, i'm not sure why its not like its that slow. I guess its because the drums are so fast and muffled it kind of slows the music down in addition to the slower melodic guitar. Well, i hope you enjoy, although enjoy doesn't seem appropriate.

All That Glitters Is Gold

I lOVE GARYGLITTER!!!, well at least these songs, i haven't really bothered to branch out and listen to anything else. All i know is that i am perfectly content with these six songs. You can't go wrong, it is like mood music for every occasion...well at least a couple of occasions, like drinking, gettin busy, and playing basketball, besides what more do you need in life? This is a 10' record released in 1980 devoted to Gary's best tracks entitled 'Glitter And Gold'. Oh and yes i am aware that GaryGlitter is a child molesting piece of rat excrement that should be castrated and hung upside down from his feet till his head explodes, but these songs kick ass. It all comes down to the whole NSBM thing i'm not racist or a child molester(despite what my blog description entails) but i can appreciate good music for what it is. Its not like listening to music made by unfavorable people will somehow turn me into a carbon copy of said person. Anyways, if you can't appreciate 'Do You Wanna Touch Me?' despite what ever sort of child abusing connotation it may have now, you don't deserve to live. Stand out songs... All! So if you like glam rock in the vein of DavidBowie, Sweet, Slade, and T.Rex then do your self a favor and take the strangers candy.

PS I am sick and tired of 'Rock And Roll pt 1&2' like everyone else.

Q: Do you wanna touch me?
A: Do i wanna touch you where?
Q: Do you wanna touch me Here?
A: Oh YA!!!

This is RatosDePorao's 2nd album entitled 'Descanse Em Paz'. This comes as a request from my friend Nick who absolutely loves this album, and prefers it to the 'Crucificados Pelo Sistema'. This record keeps with the tradition of early Ratos, with the raw Scandinavian/Discharge influenced hardcore, but this release definitely has a more metal edge compared to their first. I still would have to say that the first record is still my favorite, i don't know whether or not its because it was my first exposure or just because its so raw. either way this is a great record, and i hope you enjoy.

The Betrayer Of Christ

Photobucket

'MoonlightButchery' was an EP put out by none other than JudasIscariot in 2002. JudasIscariot plays mid tempo BlackMetal filled with hate and nihlism. JudasIscariot is a one man band from the united states who relocated to Germany. The sole member Akhenaten has also participated as a live member of Nargaroth. Anyways, this release is pure gold. Its raw, maddening, and filled with contempt for all mankind. I also just read that he has some NSBM ties...apparently another band he was in did a comp entitled 'The Night And The Fog' featuring an array of NSBM bands including SS1488, Kristallnacht, Absurd, and Graveland. the comp was supposed to be a tribute to the NSBM scene. Why is it that most of the BlackMetal bands i like end up being in some way NS. Oh well, its not like i look to BlackMetal for good moral structure or ethics. Oh and i guess now is the time where i am supposed tell some sort of convoluted story about how "i'm not racist, i love basketball"(and yes i have heard that exact phrase uttered in seriousness) but seriously, i feel that racism is a purely retarded aspect of humanities insecurity and ignorance. Besides its just lazy to claim pride in the mere fact that your parents (who happen to share the same ethnicity) once got hammered drunk, forgot protection and thought that an abortion was to expensive, cuz hangers must cost a fortune. Trash comes in all colors... Thus ends my long drawn out explaination of why i'm not a racist, blahblahblah. Enjoy the cold callous hatred of man.
Ps The track 'WinterHeart' rules.

Nuclear Flowers!!

Photobucket

Yet another post from one of my favorite bands, LebendenToten. This time its their 2003 EP entitled 'NuclearFlowers'. Its everything you have come to expect from these noble masters of FUZZ. Its raw, disgruntled and noisy as fuck. The wall of distortion seems to be cranked to 11 on this release and actually can be very painful to listen to the loud hiss that they start and finish most songs with. Someday when i am an old man i can look back at this band and blame them for my deafness, now who can i blame for my future senility? Again for fans of Noisy distorted PunkRock in the vain of good Disorder, Gai, Confuse, etc... and if you failed to pick up any of the other releases from them that i have posted you can get them here. Oh, and as usual, the stand out tracks are all of them! Hopefully someday i will get a chance to see them.

I Just Found This...

Photobucket

...in my collection of music and wow, i didn't even know i had this. This is BirthControl who started sometime in 1968, this is their first release(i believe)which is 'Self Titled'. Anyway its A nice Kraut-Rock explosion from Berlin, full of organ and all things 70's. This album makes me wanna hang out in the park and stare at the clouds. I'm positive that these guys were heavily self medicated.Stand out tracks include 'FoolishAction', 'ChangeOFMind' and 'October'. Their cover of 'LightMyFire' from THE DOORS is kinda lacking the gusto of the original, but it still sounds great. I don't really know much else about these guys.

Bleak Slow Drone

Photobucket

This is one of the best things to ever come from Southern Lord, this is Thorr'sHammer, and their only release (to my knowledge) 'Dommedagsnatt'. Thorr'sHammer play very epic doom metal in the vein of Asunder. This album is dark powerful and slow. Thorr'sHammer is collaboration of the great GregAnderson and StephenO'Malley, who have been in quite the array of bands including BurningWitch, Goatsnake, and SunnO))) just to name a few. So if that doesn't speak volumes about how great this release is you either are unfamiliar with DoomMetal or you simply don't like it. Well the music is a mix of droning doom, growled guttural vocals, with the addition of very pretty female vocals done by RunhildGammelsæter. Her vocals give this a very stark and ominous feeling. Just as a side note she also hails from Norway and sings on this record in ... you guessed it, Norwegian. So here you go, hope you enjoy.

The Curse of Mankind

Photobucket

From Norway i present to you ForgottenWoods and their 2nd full length entitled 'The Curse Of Mankind' from 1996. ForgottenWoods started around 1993 releasing 2 demos, and later 2 full lengths before calling it quits. They reunited in 2006 and released 'Race of Cain'. I just got this a couple of days ago and i have been loving it, for some reason it just seems not as over the top as most BlackMetal(i could be crazy). Anyways, it reminds me a lot of early Burzum but a little more simplified. Other then that i don't know to much about the band. I think they might have some sort of NSBM ties but i'm not 100% on that. I believe one of their members went on to be in PesteNoire which is a NSBM band. As for the bands views on the subject of race and ethnicity they offer no clues. Hope you enjoy, maybe next time i won't post something BlackMetal, got any requests?

Von

Photobucket

This is the epic and legendary 'Satanic Blood Demo' from San Francisco's own VON. Many say that this is America's first BlackMetal band. They existed from 1989-1992 and only released one demo, and this is it. I will post the unreleased demo at a latter date. They were officially released in 2003 on the Nuclear War Now Label and the release compiled both demos and a live performance. VON is raw and minimalistic with guttural growls as opposed to the shrill and shrieking voice of most black metal. But i would have to say VON reminds me of GISM in a weird way, but in a much more minimal form, like Darkthrone. Well anyways, if you are aware of this band then you know what kind of impact they had on the BlackMetal communitty the had, even Varg Vikernes wore their shirt during his trial. And if you are new to BlackMetal i hope you enjoy this and you might have even heard a few of the songs covered before without even realizing it. Enjoy.

Selbstmörderisches Deutschland

Photobucket

Pain, Hatred and contempt for ones life. Bethlehem are the band nightmares are made of, the vocals are split between shrieks, growls, and spooky whispers. all in all, Bethlehem brings this desperate feeling of anguish and self loathing that is so compelling. The music is somewhere in the midst of Black Metal and doom, the band branding themselves "DarkMetal" which after listening to it doesn't see so absurd a title. The emotion carried forth in this release is spooky, and the fact that this is all being forced at you in German just adds to the scariness. I now know what it feels like to be held hostage by a German with a death-wish. Any-who Bethlehem hail from Germany and have been around since 1991. This is their fourth release entitled 'Dictius Te Necare' which is Latin for 'You Must/Should Kill Yourself'.They have a full length before this along with a 7" and demo. I guess they suck now and play some sort of "Nu" metal with synth, i haven't experienced it, but thats the word on my street. I believe this is the last album this singer was on, but i'm not sure. At times this album can be pretty in an eerie kind of way, but for the most part its just bleak blackness with a soft spot for the suffering of existence. Well, hope you like it, its ugly and abrasive. My favorite tracks are 'Die Anarchische Befreiung Der Augenzeugenreligion' and the last one 'Dorn Meiner Allmacht'.

Dude!

Photobucket

Whats that off in the distance? I hear the oh so familiar sounds of BlackSabbath and I can smell the quaint smell of Marijuana and a lack of cleanliness. This is Sleep, they ultra Sabbath inspired stoner rock will always have a special place in my heart. It never gets old an stale, at least i don't think so. If you are unaware of Sleep, you are in for a treat. the reason i posted this and not 'Volume One', 'Holy Mountain' or 'Dopesmoker' is simply because these are all curantly in print and for some reason(even though the band is long gone) i would feel bad, because they have brought so much joy into my life. Besides if you like this go and pick up 'HolyMountain' two of the three tracks on this 7" are featured on that phenomenal album. Any-who Sleep come from San Jose C.A. and we're active in the 1990's. Sleep members can be found in the great AsbestosDeath(pre-Sleep), OM, and the ever popular HighOnFire. Sleep is my favorite out of all of those bands, I'm not sure why, maybe because i heard Sleep first. Anyways they also included a cover of Sabbaths 'LordOfThisWorld' which is just like Sabbath but the vocals have some nice effects over them which make it sound like the vocals were recorded under water, i think it might be flange and reverb...im not sure. Oh and if can't tell that the cover of the 7" is a Sabbath album, you don't deserve to listen to this. Drop out of this world with bong in hand, and enjoy some SLEEP.

Grêler La Légion Noire

Photobucket

French Black Metal, need i say more? This is the 'War Funeral March Demo' from Les Légion Noire band VladTepes. The Les Légion Noire were a group of like minded youngsters in France who loved Black Metal. They all had bands, and all the bands shared a great deal of members with one another. I love VladTepes, although i must say they differ greatly from most black metal, almost to the point that their music should be classified in a different genre. They sound a great deal more like GISM then your average DarkThrone or Burzum clone band. I would say they kinda of "Metal-Punkish". Anyways this is an awesome release. It is so very raw and unrelenting with fabulous guitar solos that would even make Randy Uchida(guitar player for GISM) tear a lil'. This demo contains five tracks and was released by Full Moon in 1994-5?. This release is a step up production wise for the band but still keeps a very "no-fi" quality about this release that i really enjoy and think adds a great deal to the record on a whole. I know a lot of people complain about production, but when lo-fi is done right it can add a whole new level to the music that can really draw the listener in. In addition here are some other Les Légion Noire bands you might enjoy: Aäkon Këëtrëh , Amaka Hahina , Belathuzur, Belketre, Black Murder, Brenoritvrezorkre, Dzlvarv, Moëvöt, Mogoutre , Mütiilation, Satanicum Tenebrae, Seviss, Susvourtre, Torgeist, Vermeth, Vagézaryavtre, Vérmyapre Kommando, Vzaeurvbtre
and if you want to learn more about any of these bands feel free to visit our resident expert on the subject Aesop and his CosmicHearse.

Part2 of Part1

If you enjoyed Part1, then you'll enjoy Part 2... The prequel. This is the 7" released in 1983 on Paraworm Records entitled 'Funeral Parade'. I sadly can not find a Sleeve for this, but i did find an article were Pushead mentions how cool the artwork was-"The realm of death. Frenzied punk creative guitar feedback frightfully shrills terror and morose. Echoing drums pound shimmering insanity and evil. Haunting vocals taunt vivid lyrical descriptions of fear, anti-God and anti-system. True music to reality's horror show. Sullenly slower but poses the same brilliance as RUDIMENTARY PENI. Psychotic fold-out cover art is exceptinal. Worth your interest."
-Pushead, from MRR. As one might have noticed earlier in my previous post, Pushead goes on to release their Lp and put them on 'Cleanse the Bacteria'. well if anyone can help me out with the Album art i would be forever thankful. Enjoy and thanks for the request.

Part2

Allday Hell

Photobucket

WolfPack Formed in 1995 in Sweden and play a ferocious brand of D-beat/Melodic Hardcore, with depressive and bleak overtones. This is the band that made my blood boil in highschool, and made me feel rowdy and anxious. They feature, and have featured members of Asta-Kask, Anti-Cimex, and ToWhatEnd?. This is their 1999 release entitled 'Allday Hell'. it features fifteen tracks of melodic D-beat. don't get me wrong these guys aren't your typical Discharge clone, they don't really share that much in common with Discharge at all... Ok maybe a little, but you wont get fifteen songs that sound like 'FightBack'. These guys are way heavier and far more melodic then Discharge. After this album they DIScided to change their name because it was also a the name of a local neo-nazi gang. The new name... WolfBrigade. i Would have to say that the whole album is a build up for the last track on the album entitled 'In Darkness You Feel No Regrets'. That is an awesome title for a really beautiful piece of music. This song stands out as far as sound quality and vocals. It is a lot more raw, abrasive, and just bleak. so give this a listen and even if you don't like it initially listen to the last track.

In Darkness You Can't Regret.

Why Do People Hate This Band?

Photobucket

I don't get why people get so up in arms abut Bongzilla. Sure their name is cheesy, and they are over the top about their love for marijuana, but its called stoner metal for a reason, they love weed. They are no better or worse musicians then ElectricWizard, Sleep, EYEHATEGOD, or Weedeater(which they would later share a member of). It makes me wonder what certain people are thinking, because i'll let someone tell me how cheesy and "bad" Bongzilla is, and then the same person will go on to explain to me what a great band St. Vitus is. Please do not get me wrong, i love St.Vitus(both Reagers and Wino) but Wino writes/sings some of the cheesiest song i have ever heard. Any ways, This is 'Methods For Attaining Extreme Altitudes' from Bongzilla. Bongzilla hail from Madison, Wisconsin and play, well stoner metal/sludge/doom/ whatever. This slic of canibinoid madness came out in 1998 on the ever popular Relapse Records. I would say Bongzilla's style of Stoner Metal/Sludge... is pretty nice the vocals can sometimes come acroos kinda Black metalish at times, with the raspy screams, and sheiks. Overall i would say that Bongzilla is like EYEHATEGOD with out the faster parts. In total, 'Methods...' contains a whole 3 tracks of smoke induced doom that are laced with samples of quotes about Marijuana. I hope you give this a listen and maybe even enjoy it.

Hardcore Temptation

Photobucket

I love Japanese Hardcore, The Execute are one of those bands that made me stop in my tracks. i Don't know to much about them aside from their discography, and that they latter turned into a goth rock type band. any-who, The Execute rule, and this is their 1983 release, 'Hardcore Temptation'. Plus two members went on to form Gastunk, who also kick ass, and will probably be posted here sooner or latter. Sorry, i'm having a hard time finding the cover, any help?

Teenage Sexcapades

Photobucket

Elton Motello's 'Victim Of Time' is good old 77' Punk, its filled with angst, sexual frustration and the dancey popness we know and love. Elton Motello, (aka-Lou Deprijck) was the composer and song writer for Plastic Bertrand's biggest hit 'Ça Plane Pour Moi' . Both bands were featured on the 'Bloodstains Across Belgium Comp'. Almost all of Elton's songs deal with sexual themes, at least the most memorable ones. Probably the most famous song on the album is the song 'Jet Boy, Jet Girl' which is about a boy jealous of a former lover after seeing him with a woman. I would have to say it is a pretty widely covered song. The Plastic Bertrand version was featured in car commercials as well in the movie 'Euro-Trip'. Elton's version of the song is a simple reworking of the Plastic Bertrand song with the lyrics changed to English and altered for the sake of being controversial. The chorus being "He gives me head!". The music is a mix of G.G.AllinAndTheJabbers meets The Ramones in a disco and take turns beating up TheKinks and RoxyMusic. stand out tracks include 'Jet Boy, Jet Girl', 'Victim Of Time', 'Teen Pimp', and 'Artificial Insemintaion'.
