Train To Kill

I don't know to much about this band except their name is Rudo, they are from the Bay Area, Hayward to be exact, and their singers name is Erick. They sent me their demo to see if i was interested in posting it here, well here it is in all its glory. Just to give you an idea about how enthusiastic i am about this demo, i just heard it like ten minutes ago, im not even waiting for his response. THIS DEMO FLOORED ME! Its right up this Blogs alley, a hybrid of noisy raw punk, and thrashy Black metal ala Bathory (they even do a cover). Its kinda of a link between early Bathory, and GISM...and if that doesn't grab you by the balls and demand respect, then i don't know what your doing here. At times its more blackmetal, and at others more like Japanese Hardcore. Comparable to ToxicHolocaust, but way better

The Sign Of The Wolf

Pentagram is performing this Friday and in honor of such a momentous occasion i will give unto you 'Relentless' their first full length album, and probably their best aside from their demos from the 70's. So ya, this is a gift that keeps on giving, Sabbath laden Doom from American contemporaries.
Ps i am totally gonna throw my panties into Bobby's toothless old mouth...and the panties will be laced with speed.

Enjoy

Huge

Sprawling soundscapes, desperation, and heavy amounts of dope-smoke trailing away from my point of view drifting farther and farther into the atmosphere til it dissipates over a rising metropolis of noise and confusion.
This is Boris and their 2nd album entitled "AmplifierWorship" from 1998

Unholy Terror

So what if Venom was sloppier, faster, and decided not to wear the silly spandex? then you would these fine young pioneers of MetalPunk This is NME and their first LP from 1986 entitled 'Unholy Death'. This is raw evil, thrashy Punk/Crossover with a ton of energy. A lot of these riffs and song might as well be Venom covers, but the seer energy and ferociousness surpasses the spandex lords of Cheese. Any who, one could even argue that these guys are even more BlackMetal than Venom just cuz the guitarist/singer killed his own mother...with a hatchet and scissors. Now just as your sitting there thinking "wow, what would posess someone to do that" Well his reason, he thought he was a robot, and wanted to see if his mother was one too. He got 12 years in prison, and then in 2005 drove his car off a bridge in seattle as it was openning for a boat.

The Stench Of Death

Now I'm not going to go on a big rant about crust do to there big opposition to soap mixed with water simply because...well i suffer the same opposition. Some folks will make excuses about squatting and not being able to luxuries of running water or even claiming that many brands of soap contain animal bi-products which is unfair to our animal brethren. I simply am lazy and lack the simple necessity of caring. Any who This is Hellbastard and their 1986 demo entitled 'RipperCrust'. This demo gave a name to a whole breed of filthy like minded punks who had a taste for metal aesthetics while still maintaining the punk ethos, a hybrid of long hair and tight smell black clothes. Anyways the members of Hellbastard wanted to be a melding of Slayer with crass lyrics, i would say they shot for the stars and ended somewhere better. It neither sounds like slayer nor does it have the simplicity of Crass's lyrics. HellBastard comes across sounding similar to Amebix in both content and musical style, but with a more metal tinge. Members later went on to join forces with EnergeticKrusher and form HellKrusher, both good bands. Enjoy.

Blood, Guts, And Beer!

'Filthy Hounds From Hades
' has been labeled as one of the best NWOBHM albums ever, and i tend to agree. Its reminds me of 'Killers' era IronMadian, mixed with classic line up MotorHead. So what you get it is this punky rawness mixed with over the top rock sensibility that will blow you away...much like an actual tank. So enjoy. Did i mention that the singer/bassplayer was also in TheDamned and TheSaints?

Come To Grief

This is Grief's 1st Full length record entitled 'Come To Grief '. This is good old fashioned sludge, its brutally slow, narcotic induced and heavy. This is the paranoia one feels after mass consumption of Marijuana, and the feeling one gets after years of drug use has isolate them from their friends, family, and all the people that once cared for them.

For ManOwar I will Fight and Die

No matter what i may say, it will not do this album justice, but i will leave you with one fact, and one fact only. ManOwaR doesn't bleed metal, metal bleeds ManOwaR!

Never Again!

This is Buzzov*en, for those in the know this was Dixie Collins band prior to the awesome Weedeater. This 7" came out in 1997 and contains two awesome tracks 'NeverAgain' and 'Useless', both of which are great. So as expected this is good old down-tuned stoner doom for the downtrodden and terminally self medicated. So enjoy.

Dreadlocks And The Plight Of The Native Americans

This is AcidRainDance and this is their S/T 7" from 1991 released on the awesome Skuld, as you can imagine this is a crust band with heavy metal leanings. I was floored when the first time i listened to this and i had it on 33rpms i thought to myself this is fucking awesome doom!!!! then i realized i was wrong, and its just really awesome Stenchy Crust from Germany i don't know to much about this band other then what i have already told you and that they also put out an Lp which i am kicking myself for not buying when i had the chance. This abum isn't just your typical dimestore crust band they are really talented and are kinda of poppy in a weird sense, and they love the Metal. It kinda reminds me of a faster axegrinder sans the keyboard intros. So Dance! Dance Away! But I would advise to stay out of the rain(cuz that counts as a shower).

Heartwork

So I am making this post in mourning because i missed them play the other night. I don't really have any interesting anecdote's or want to spend a lot of time describing how much ass this record kicks, or about how Jeff Carcass is an amazing artist, or even about how this band was formed by two founding members of ElectroHippies. I might just be being lazy. But i digress, I heard wonderful things about how great the concert was and am glad to know they still kick ass. So here it is 'HeartWork', a lot of people don't like this album because it isn't as straight forward as their prior efforts, but i love this album because its not just typical Grindcore, i'm not even sure you could consider this Grind at all, its more or less Technical Death Metal. So enjoy.

Born With A Heart Of Steel

Once upon a time i worked at a Punk-Rock Record store near my house. I was sitting behind the counter going about my business when a young naive kid walked in and happened to notice behind the Manowar 'Kings of Metal' on the back wall for sale. The naive little shit had the audacity to tell me how much Manowar sucks and how they are a huge joke. The kid obviously had no idea he was talking to the only Manowar fan that worked in the store. So i looked him directly in the eye and sad "What the Fuck did you just say?" as the young'n sat there with a stupefied look on his face muttering something and trying to stand by his opinion, i quickly proclaimed that Manowar rules and is far better then any shitty band he was wearing on his vest(i can say this truthfully because this kid was wearing a Balzac backpatch). I countinued to verbally assault this poor kid by saying "Other bands play , Manowar kills!" basically telling him"my dad could beat up your dad" which i believe Manowar would stand by. All the kid could say in response was "uh, uh, i like IcedEarth." i quickly shot him down with a "Fuck that shit, that band fuckin sucks!"(i don't really ever recall hearing that band, but i was out for blood). It must have looked odd with this kid cowering to a crusty with a shaved head and a bright red pissed off look in his face. I feel bad for the kid, in a way.

Any who i love Manowar their brand of over the top cheesy power metal takes the cake and continues to get better with every album. It might be my guilt pleasure, but i don't feel so guilty. Their Machismo makes me weak in the knees. I will be the first to state Manowar is a lot like heavy metal show tunes, and i wouldn't have them any other way. I know for a fact that if JoeyDemiao were to see me sitting hear eating soy strawberry yogurt with granola he would call me a fag, and then ride off into the sunset with a blond stripper on the back of his "Horse of Steel". This is their 1988 album entitled 'Kings of Metal' this is the turning point for the band many claim this to either be were they sold out or were they got better i agree with the latter. Its so epic, manly and well Broadway. They have lyrics which include the prase "I ride a comet" and Way your sword stay wet, like a young girl in her prime"...Manowar don't fuck around! So if you like your metal full misogynistic closet cases this is the album for you. Besides this is the loudest band in the world according to Guinness Book of World Records, at least they used to be.

Hope You Like The Stench

Photobucket

Deviated Instinct were a Crust band that existed from the mid 80's til about 1990-91? this is their last effort, the 'Nailed EP' its more comparable to latter day Carcass. So its a bit heavier than the typical crust, and the drums a far more intricate, at least for a crust band. the music is slowed down a bit and its just good, the vocals are barked through a few effects, that can be cheesey at times. So if you liked 'Gutteral Breath' you'll love this, it even shares a track 'void' which is a pretty awesome song. The stand-out song has to be 'Listen To The Sirens'. If you like dreadlocks, tight pants, and the overwhelming stench of a dying system, then you'll dig it.

AARRGGHH!
