Neanderthal was a ManIsTheBastard side project featuring Eric wood, and Matt Domino of Infest. . Its sludgy, lo-fi, and has really fast parts... i guess thats what you get when you mix MITB with Infest. These guys only released to a 7" a split7" and did a comp for the now defunct Slap-A-Ham Records. This is the 'Fighting Music' 7" and it is gold. So if you like if You like MITB, Infest, or any other PowerViolence with Sludge leanings get it, cuz chances are you aren't gonna find this release cheap. Stand out tracks include 'Brain Tourniquet' and 'Kill Eat and Breed'

I think this may be the first "power violence" record if you don't count Siege or Infest.
Its up to debate, because as far as i know MITB coined the phrase, but bands like Infest, spazz, and Neanderthal Pioneered the Music. Although i think its kind of silly because the term PowerViolence fits the music of MITB better. Plus i can't find a release date for this(1991? i think), so your probably right. Thanks Aesop
Check out the CYCLOPS 7" if you can find it...pre Neanderthal...I think it was after Eric Wood did PHC...
In my opinion Pissed Happy Childern was the first power violence band and didnt know it! And to think it all came out of Claremont, CA!
